PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID TRAINING ESSEX.

Paediatric First Aid refers to medical attention given to infants and young children. Anyone who is officially in charge of other people’s children usually needs to go through Paediatric First Aid Training to be able to deal with any emergencies arising.

CONCEPT.

The Paediatric First Aid training course is designed for delegates whose employment – in order to meet legal requirements – requires them to administer First Aid.

AIM.

First Aid is the skilled application of accepted principles of treatment on the occurrence of an accident or sudden illness. The aim of the course is to equip delegates with the requisite skills and knowledge to administer First Aid for paediatrics.

OBJECTIVES.

By assessment the student will be able to demonstrate the skills and knowledge required to deal with:-

  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of a First Aider
  • Assess an incident
  • Manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally
  • Unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally
  • Assist a casualty who is choking
  • Manage a casualty with external bleeding
  • Casualty in shock
  • Cope with a casualty that has a minor injury.
